  European Rider's Rally

European Rider’s Rally

Riders from all over the country gather to enjoy some of the best riding in the Southeast through the foothills of Kentucky and Tennessee.  There is free camping on the banks of the beautiful Cumberland River which runs through the middle of quaint downtown Burkesville, KY. There are well maintained toilet and showering facilities (bring your own towel and soap) and a covered pavilion with a fire pit. Hotel reservations are available at both the Riverfront Hotel and Alpine Lodge (270-864-3300) for those who prefer hotels. Register early as the rooms tend to fill up.

Rally riders will be treated to a complimentary lunch provided Saturday by Bloodworth Motorcycles, a free steak dinner with all the trimmings on Saturday night and a complimentary Sunday morning breakfast.  Riders will also enjoy Friday Night at the Movies, a top notch live Nashville band, seminars on riding skills, lessons on bike maintenance, door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and free coffee and lemonade all weekend.

Both guided tours and self guided rides will be offered to the old English style town of Rugby, the Maker’s Mark distillery and various scenic locations in the area. It is a rider’s paradise.

The rally is hosted by the BMW Motorcycle Club of Nashville. Riders may register online at www.bmwmcon.org or email rally@bmwmcon.org. The first 200 to preregister will get a long sleeved rally shirt and rally pin. Those who register at the door will get a shirt and pin as available.

Cost: $40 to preregister-- $45 at the door-- $25 for day passes.

  Cars & Coffee Cool Springs

Please come out for Cars (Motorcycles) & Coffee  – Saturday morning

Please pass on the information about this event -  It is scheduled every Saturday until mid-November.

Time: 8am- until the last vehicle leaves

Place:  NEW LOCATION - 633 Frazier Drive, Franklin. (the Carmike Thoroughbred 20 Theater parking lot closest to McDonald’s)  More room to add participants. It is also only about ¼ mile from the old Carrabba’s Restaurant location

Refreshment opportunities:  Bread & Company and McDonalds are a few hundred yards from event or  the old Starbucks is across Cool Springs Blvd. (1/4 mile)

Housekeeping notes:

Don’t forget to bring your folding chair so you can eat and just take a load off.

There are two items of consideration that everyone needs to keep in mind;

 1)      There are no trash receptacles in the Carmike Theater parking lot, so it will be each person’s responsibility to make sure that they pick up their coffee cup, biscuit wrappers, napkins and other forms of trash and dispose of the refuse in the proper location.

2)      Driving onto and exiting the parking lot - PLEASE DRIVE SLOW AND RESPONSIBLY! The demise of most Cars and Coffee events has been due to trash and the what kind of condition the parking lot has been left in after the Cars and Coffee, then secondly, how participants drive into and out of the Cars and Coffee site. As I have mentioned before “testosterone and horse power is a dangerous mix”. Please enter the parking lot slowly, drive through the parking lot slowly and exit the parking lot slowly. Once you have left the parking lot and are on Frasier Drive, continue to drive appropriately. If you feel the “need for speed” and to “throttle up”, please at least wait till you are a mile away from the parking lot before you do anything. We do not want that activity to be associated with the Cars and Coffee event

  BMW MOA 40th Anniversary Tour

A very special BMW MOA 40th Anniversary Tour

June 24 - July 8, 2012

Includes 2 days at Garmisch BMW Days

The European Alps are the most magical place in the world to ride motorcycles. This tour focuses on that magic.  Beginning and ending in Munich, the first day on the road is a pleasant, relaxing ride through the Bavarian countryside. The scenery takes an exciting turn as the Alps come into view, dominating the horizon. Your introduction to mountain riding is via the relatively wide, easy Fernpass or the narrow, wild Hahntenjoch. These high mountain roads that climb up and over the peaks offer you unparalleled views and
challenges.

During the next few days, as you explore Switzerland, you may opt to enjoy the Klausen, Pragel, Brunig, St. Gottard, Lukmanier, Grimsel or Susten passes. Continue east to the Engiadina valley, where enthusiastic pass riders may surmount the Gluela, Ofen, Splugen, San Bernardino, Bernina, Abula, Maloja, or Julier passes.

Then on to the beauty of Italy, where the striking scenery and exciting riding compete for attentions. The Dolomites are simply massive and pass roads allow up close access to them. Austrian towns steeped in history are next. To the very end of the tour, the riding remains first rate.

We will spend 2 nights in Garmisch-Partenkirchen to attend the largest BMW gathering in the world - BMW Motorrad Days. With stunt performances, test rides including off-road riding on a purpose-built motocross track, show races, and numerous displays and exhibitions from BMW Motorrad partners offering just about anything and everything a motorcyclist could want, the program of events at BMW Days is comprehensive.

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Beach's Motorcycle Adventures and of the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America this adventure will feature a tour of BMW's plant in Munich!

More details at Beach's Motorcycle Adventures: http://www.bmca.com or call 716-773-4960.

There are two items of consideration that everyone needs to keep in mind;
