The Rally dates are set and hope you will mark your calendar to join us this year. Riders from all over the country gather to enjoy some of the best riding in the Southeast through the foothills of Kentucky and Tennessee. The natural beauty of this area was noted by naturalist and "Father of Our National Parks", John Muir in his famous Thousand Mile Walk to the Gulf.
There is free camping on the banks of the beautiful Cumberland River which runs along quaint downtown Burkesville, KY. There are well maintained restrooms and showering facilities that will open starting on Thursday, May 16 for the early arrivals (bring your own towel and soap) and a covered pavilion with a fire pit. For those traveling in RVs there is limited RV parking behind the Agriculture Building with additional spots in the general camping area just past the restroom & shower facilities, look for the RV power pedestal.
Most people take advantage of the free camping but for those who prefer hotels reservations are available at the Riverfront Lodge (walking distance from the rally site) by calling (270)-864-3300. Register early for the Riverfront as the rooms there tend to fill up. Unfortunately, the Alpine Lodge will not be available in 2013. We have not used these hotels in the past but some we know of are The Best Western Albany Garden, Sulphur Creek Resorts, Burkesville, KY; Hendricks Creek Resort; Hendricks Creek Road, Burkesville, KY; The Old Coe House B&B, Burkesville, KY and the Dale Hollow Lake State Park.
Saturday morning the Eastern Star ladies will prepare an all you can eat $5 pancake breakfast that includes your drink. Prepared hot and it will start at 6:00 am for the early risers.
Ride maps and routes will be provided to all participants. Several club riders have been scouting both road and dual sport routes and we plan to have both new and old routes. The word is a special ride is in the works for Saturday! Watch for upcoming emails and check back as the details are confirmed.
Bloodworth Motorsports, our BMW dealer in Nashville, has agreed to provide a free lunch to all paid participants on Saturday. Both Saturday's lunch and dinner are now included with the registration fee. Bloodworth's has been a great friend of the Rally and we are excited they will be joining us again. As the premier BMW motorcycle dealer in the Nashville area they will also be sharing their knowledge with a "tech session" on Saturday. Details to come.
Friday night there will be live music in the outdoor band shell then Saturday night will be the steak dinner followed by more live music from one of the talented local bands.
Sunday morning is a wonderful free breakfast graciously provided by the Living Word Ministries that consists of eggs, biscuits and gravy, a breakfast casserole followed by a short service and Blessing of the Bikes before everyone heads home.
Cost: $40 to pre-register, $45 at the door -- $25 for day passes. Pre-registration by May 1 at 11:59PM guarantees you a rally shirt and pin, and four extra door prize tickets! We are in the final stretch of rally planning and Pre-registration has been extended until May 14, but those registrations received after May 1 cannot be guaranteed a rally shirt (due to the deadline for us to submit our order for shirts to the printer.) Pre-registrations received after May 1 will still receive a rally pin and four extra door prize tickets (for a total of 10 tickets). All on-line registration ends May 14 at 11:59 pm and mail-in registrations need to be received by the same date. Hopefully for those of last minute decision making, whether it is from family or work schedule conflicts, the extension will make it possible for you to Pre-register at the $40 fee and receive extra benefits. Rally fee $45 at the gate.
